Strange Reality Part Duex

Sun Aug 23, 2009, 7:56 PM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: washing machine
  • Reading: Creek Mary's Blood (for the 3rd time)
  • Watching: 'puter screen
  • Eating: nothing ubt I'm headed for some watermelon
  • Drinking: I really need some water
It has been an eventful few days. Thursday was the last day of clinical massages for my whole class. I had a job interview scheduled for 5pm and it turned out to be more of an orientation than an interview. :) We then made a 7 hour trip to Oklahoma. Friday my family of 4 plus a friend packed up a huge Penske truck, a Dodge Ram, and a Saturn Vue with all the stuff we left in our house down there. My parents had to break away in the afternoon to sign the sale papers for the house (my home for 20 years). Saturday, we drove the caravan of vehicles back to Missouri. Today, my family of 4 UNpacked everything. Sure could've used that extra muscle from Darius but I think he hurt his back bad enough loading boxes and furniture Friday so I guess I'll let him off the hook. Hopefully, throughout the week we can get everything in place.

I have to wait my turn because I'm not going to be living there. I'll be temporarily moving in with my Aunt an hour away so I can be closer to my new job. Of course, that is dependent upon whether or not I pass the state licensing exam this Wednesday.

It hasn't hit me yet that this major test is a mere 3 days away. Our college director made arrangements with our instructors so that we could have all of our work finished last week in order to have this week to study full-time for the exam because our graduation is also dependent on passing the state licensing exam (nice huh?)

So lots of exciting stress going on but I'm handling it surprisingly well. I pray this calm lasts through September or at least through this week.

My plan with my new job is to save for two months for a down payment on a car. Then save for another month or two and move into an apartment, either alone or talk my best bud into moving in with me. She'd have to transfer to a different branch but I don't think she would mind that.

I'm amazed. I am actually beginning my life as an adult. It's totally weird to think of being outside of my parents household. But I long for it. I want it now. It's weird to think of myself as a certified anything; as being trained to provide a service; of having a job.... I've had jobs before. Well, job. It was a major disaster so I kind of think of this as my first REAL job.

My leg muscles are so tired so I'm going to massage them and watch TV.
Tune in next time for another episode of Strange Reality.:mwahaha:

I like Gimp and hate Photoshop. I guess since I learned Gimp first I simply can't get the hang of PS.
I aspire to much but fall short of everything. I have random, incomplete knowledge of a wide variety of topics. I am currently undergoing a course of study to change that: in less than a month I will be certified as a Massage Therapist.
With that and the maintenance and improvement of my spirituality, there is little left for the writing or "Gimping" or my new interest in fractal art.
I still live with my parents though I hope to change that by the end of this year once my 'career' gets going.
I put career in quotes because I don't consider any form of employment as my true career. As trite as it sounds, my service to my God is life's work and my goal with massage therapy is to work part-time while focusing on my Christian ministry.
